- All burns need to provide notification to the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency by calling 1-866-404-4911. This helps prevent costly fire call fees, and false alarms to our volunteer fire departments.
- If you are within 4.5km of the provincial forest, and your fire is larger than 1 meter in diameter, you are required to get a burn notification number from SPSA by calling 1-800-667-9660
Spring Roads/Overweight Vehicles
When transporting goods and/or services in Saskatchewan, the maximum gross vehicle weight is dependent on highway classification.
Spring road restrictions are dependent on weather. Typically, these road restrictions start in the first week of March in the southwest of the province, and the remainder over a two -three week period. Weight limits on municipal highways are the same as those for secondary highways, including the winter season; except eight-axle B-trains and unless otherwise allowed by the regulations.
Weights allowed on public highways are separate from the registered gross weight of a vehicle. A heavy vehicle is usually registered to a specific weight determined by its business and the maximum weight it will generally carry. Weight limits on municipal highways are the same as those for secondary highways, including the winter season; except eight-axle B-trains and unless otherwise allowed by the local municipality or regulation.
The R.M. of Arborfield No. 456 offers vehicle permits to vehicles that exceeds the prescribed or ordered weights if that person intends to operate a vehicle on our municipal roads where the vehicle has a weight or is carrying on any axle or wheel, a gross weight in excess of the maximum gross weight.
One-time or minimal use annual permits may be given from the R.M. Office to carry while travelling on our municipal roads, overweight.
If the vehicle(s) will be damaging the roads that is significant in nature, a Road Maintenance Agreement will need to be in place for bulk hauls.
